Be it logistics, fleet operations, or parking management, efficient vehicle identification and tracking have become an integral component of successful operation across industries. Ultra-High Frequency Radio Frequency Identification (UHF RFID) technology is one of the most remarkable developments in this field, providing unprecedented capabilities in vehicle management.
UHF RFID offer numerous benefits over other RFID technologies such as extended read range, higher read rates, faster data transfer and smaller tag form factors. Streamline vehicle management and ensure seamless access control with ZKetco’s reliable, accurate and efficient UHF RFID readers, offered by ScreenCheck. ZKTeco’s UHF RFID reader is a proximity card reader that utilises RFID technology to simultaneously read multiple passive UHF tags, within a reading range of 12-meters. Thanks to its waterproof design, the reader is ideal for various RFID applications such as transport management, vehicle management, car parking, production process control, and access control. What’s more, it has a long-read range and lifespan with high reliability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

FAQs
1. What are the key benefits offered by a UHF RFID reader in vehicle management?
- Extended read range: UHF RFID readers have the capability to detect tags from distances of 5-10 meters or more, depending on environmental conditions and specifications in the tag
- Higher read rates: These systems can simultaneously process hundreds of tags, making them suitable for efficiently managing multiple vehicles in busy environments.
- Faster data transfer: UHF systems have quicker read speeds, enabling real-time vehicle monitoring.
- Low maintenance compared to other RFID-powered solutions
- Advanced analytics
- Seamless integration with other technologies
- Secure authentication and enhanced customer experience
2. How does UHF RFID technology function in vehicle management?
RFID tags, containing unique identification information and a small antenna, are attached to the windshields or license plates of vehicles. UHF RFID readers are installed at strategic locations such as entry/exit points, parking barriers, toll booths, or throughout the perimeters of the facility. As soon as a vehicle approaches, the reader emits radio waves in the 860-960 MHz frequency range. The vehicle tags capture energy from the radio waves emitted by the reader, utilising it to power the microchip and transmits the stored data back. The reader receives information from the tag, which usually includes a unique ID code linked to the vehicle. This data is processed by the backend systems to trigger actions such as opening gates, recording timestamps, or updating inventory systems.
3. Does UHF-312 have the capability to read multiple UHF tags?
Yes of course. UHF-312 features Dual Polarization and read sensitivity mode and can read multiple passive UHF tags at once within a 12-meter reading range.
